Everyone lately has been complaining about Sarah Palin being for the Bridge To Nowhere before she was against it. Ironically, these are the same people who complained about John Kerry being a flip-flopper last time.
However, both Obama and Biden voted to fund the bridge, even when given a chance by Sen. Coburn to divert the funds to Katrina relief. McCain did not vote, although he is on record opposing the bridge earmark. Yet again Obama is allowed to accuse someone else of doing exactly the same thing he has done himself. When are people going to realize what a hypocrite he is? This is getting ridiculous and yet nothing is being said.
The rumors about Sarah Palin have been running rampant. From her faking her pregnancy to banning books, it seems like everyone wants to believe the first thing they hear about this woman. The thing that is hard ot believe though, is how easy it is to check these facts out. They are all false. She did not fake her pregnancy, she did not want to ban books, she did not cut funding for special needs programs, the list goes on.
Obama and his supporters had to launch a site just to stop the rumors about him, yet these hypocrites are gleefully going around smearing this woman and her family. Don’t agree wither actual policies, fine, neither do I. Is it so much to ask though that we have a mature, rational discussion in this country?
You know people who believe any of the following should not be allowed to vote:
1. Obama is a Muslim
2. Obama is not an American citizen
3. Palin faked her pregnancy
4. Palin wanted to ban books
Or any of the other countless, baseless rumors about any candidate. There are enough valid reasons to not vote for either.
The thing is, if you listen to the whole quote you know he was talking about McCain’s policies, but this phrase was chosen specifically to harken back to Palin’s own lipstick comment. This man is supposed to be brilliant and a great orator, yet either he was too stupid to realize people would jump on this, or, did in fact want to evoke Palin with this comment.
I am sick of hearing the “She’s not qualified” argument.
These are former VPs and the experience they had before becoming the candidate:
Vice-Presidents in history:
Thomas Marshall-He served as Governor of Indiana from 1909 to 1913.
Chester Arthur- Arthur was a member of the Stalwart faction of the Republican Party and a political protégé of Roscoe Conkling, rising to Collector of Customs for the Port of New York
Calvin Coolidge- Mayor, State Legislature, Governor
Henry Wallace- Sec.
Charles Dawes- Comptroller of currency, failed Senate bid
Were they qualified??
The supposed body of bigfoot has turned out to be a hoax. Who saw that coming?? The body was in fact a frozen novelty costume. This was found out by testing hair samples and thawing the “body”.
I for one cannot believe that someone would actually pull a hoax like this. Next you will tell me the “Monster of Montauk” isn’t real either.
The AP is reporting that Sen. Obama plans to appear in Springfield, Illinois Saturday with his VP choice. Ralph Nader phoned Politico.com today and said his sources told him to expect a surprise Obama-Clinton ticket.
I sincerely hope this is not true, Hillary will bring him votes which could put him over the top. She needs to bide her time until 2012.
If he picks Biden he shoots himself in the foot. His whole campaign has rested on the point that experience is not everything, well that is what Biden brings to the ticket. So obviously Obama realizes experience IS important. Just at the bottom of the ticket.
Google has been shutting down or freezing anti Obama sites on its Blogger platform.
Hey, why let a little thing like free speech influence this election? The owners of these sites have been told that their sites are spam sites and they may have access back after Google determines if they are indeed spam. This is not just conservative sites either, pro Hillary Clinton blogs are being subjected to the same treatment. All of these blogs belong to the Just Say No Deal coalition.
I am sure Obama has nothing to do with this either. It is all his campaigns doing and he was not aware of it at all. Just like EVERYTHING else that backfires on him.
Sen. Obama spoke in New Mexico last week about his commitment to equal pay:
“Mr. McCain is an honorable man, we respect his service. But when you look at our records and our plans on issues that matter to working women, the choice could not be clearer,” Obama told the audience in New Mexico, a voter-swing state. “It starts with equal pay. Sixty-two percent of working women in America earn half or more than of their family’s income. But women still earn 77 cents for every dollar earned by men in 2008. You’d think that Washington would be united it its determination to fight for equal pay.”
Yet on average women working on Obamas staff earned an average of $6000 less annually than their male counterparts. From Cybercast News Service:
On average, women working in Obama’s Senate office were paid at least $6,000 below the average man working for the Illinois senator. That’s according to data calculated from the Report of the Secretary of the Senate, which covered the six-month period ending Sept. 30, 2007. Of the five people in Obama’s Senate office who were paid $100,000 or more on an annual basis, only one — Obama’s administrative manager — was a woman.
The average pay for the 33 men on Obama’s staff (who earned more than $23,000, the lowest annual salary paid for non-intern employees) was $59,207. The average pay for the 31 women on Obama’s staff who earned more than $23,000 per year was $48,729.91. (The average pay for all 36 male employees on Obama’s staff was $55,962; and the average pay for all 31 female employees was $48,729. The report indicated that Obama had only one paid intern during the period, who was a male.)
This really would start being funny if it weren’t about the man running to be the next president. The lack of honesty and character from Obama is just mind numbing. What exactly are his followers seeing in him? What has he done besides spout “HOPE” and “CHANGE”. I have talked to many Obamabots and not one can name any actual legislation that he has sponsored and/or written. Last week FISA was evil incarnate, now it’s not so bad to them. Last week public financing was great, now it is broken. Get real!
McCain has previously called his wife a C U Next Tuesday and he slips up again during a speech.
